Kalina Carey... a true bada$$ woman! wearing multiple hats from her own brand to martial arts to soccer to real estate she’s definitely an inspiration and someone you should check out.

We were able to get a few questions answered so keep reading to find out what she had to say.

You have a lot going on can you tell us a little of what you do? And how you keep up with everything?

Yes! Right now I’m a trainer in LA at a gym in Weho called Fit Arts. We specialize in fitness, acrobatics and martial arts. The main martial art we teach is Capoeira. I have found a new love for real estate so I also enjoy networking with investors and professionals in the area and talking all things real estate :)

I believe that when you move, you keep moving. When you rest, you rust. You just have to commit to something and stick to it to create a schedule— and with a schedule more things on your to-do list will get knocked off!

Who is your biggest inspiration?

I honestly can’t say one person, I draw inspiration from many places. I get inspired when I drive and listen to music, travel to new areas, and talk with different kinds of people. I thrive off of getting re-inspired!

If you could fix one problem in this world what would it be?

It would definitely be the injustices in the world. Sex, race, religion, etc. We are all the same race, doing the same things. We just may look a little different, and that’s perfectly okay. It’s what makes the world beautiful.

When was your first experience of defeat and how did you over come it?

Omgsh! How can I even count. So many times. From soccer tryouts, to not getting accepted to college, to not getting my “dream job” (which was a blessing in disguise). With the college example, I did everything that I could to make sure I conquered that goal of getting into the University of Louisville. I couldn’t get into it for financial reasons and I was out of state, so I had to go to a community college for two years. Which definitely felt like a “downgrade”, but it was well worth the fight as I graduated from the University of Louisville and almost debt free :)

What’s a quote you live by?

“I can and I will”. Our mindset can be our greatest asset or biggest barrier. You have to choose. I choose to win and overcome every time.
