Last night I cooked dinner for Michele (me cooking, very rare I'm only good at eggs & pasta), she knows I'm a picky eater but the things I do make are delicious. I made her my famous pasta: Chickpea pasta Penne, Rao's Marinara, can of tuna, spinach, salt & oil. Sounds weird right. It is. But it's AMAZING. Michele being Italian has confirmed: it's good!
I'm not sold on semolina wheat and frankly it's hard for me to digest, so that's why I decided to look around for a pasta substitute. Chickpea Pasta. Lentil Pasta. Spinach Pasta. Gluten-Free Pasta. I've tried every pasta substitutes possible and the one I keep coming back to is Banza.
The texture and taste of real pasta is irreplaceable. But this is honestly the closest consistency to me, even though it's not 100% chickpea (has tapioca, pea protein & zanthan gum which helps give that texture) I love the flavor & nutritional value.
That's how I feel. They come in all shapes & sizes!
Anyways, try it. It won't hurt. Disclaimer: you will get gassy. Obviously you're eating a ton of legumes. Eventually when your body will get use to it, it stops.
