What is Mercury Retrograde?

At some time or another you've probably heard someone say that crazy things are happening due to Mercury Retrograde. But what is Mercury Retrograde, what does it have to do with us, and why does it cause what's perceived as such high scale disruption?

Mercury retrograde happens about 3-4 times a year for 3 weeks at a time. You may notice your computer or phone crash, emails or mail getting lost, flights being delayed, car trouble or anything else in life seemingly crashing down.

Because this time is so shaky, un-level, and iffy, it is said that decision making should be done before or after the retrograde as the results are sometimes not permanent.  But definitely don’t put your life on hold just be more cautious of what’s happening during this period. Note that during this time your intuition heightened and trust that any "coincidences" are a sure sign on direction to be taken.

But let me get down to the science + cause? Mercury in retrograde happens when Mercury appears to be spinning backwards but it reality it isn't. Sooo this weird phase of our lives is dictated by an illusion? Not exactly! Mercury is the closest planet to the sun and is way smaller than the earth, so the orbit around the sun happens quicker than ours and because of this Mercury will basically “lap” us. Mercury retrograde is what we are feeling as we are simply passing by.

Do you feel the effects of Mercury retrograde? What are some of the things you notice? Per usual comment below and if you'd like us to share make sure to add your instagram handle so we can tag!
